Evaluation of Performance

The family: 'Behind The Scenes'

My individual performance : On the night I felt I gave it my all and had fun whilst doing. Like my teacher said, I tried not so much to think of what line came next but to think about what I wanted in the scene and what my reactions were to what the other characters said. My scene with Hannah and Katie ( who played Cissy and Lilly) were different in pace to a lot of the other scenes. Because we had a fairly normal conversation ,we were lively and fed of well from what others said. Half way through the scene my character doesn't speak anymore and I found that a good way to focus on reacting. In one line when I list all the things you need to do to stay healthy I think I went a bit too quickly so it seemed very unnatural. As well as that, I emphasised "In Anderson's big car" too much which led to my second line having to be even more emphasised. I think my volume and projection was good and maybe I could of hit those 2-word lines to be as loud as the rest. What made it believable for me was the tone and contrasts of the beginning 'heys' or the smiles and weird looks we gave each other if the other character had said something. One of the actors forgot their lines but I think she covered up well and we moved on better from that.

I didn't end up actually eating anything- I just looked for things in my bag or took out some water and had a sip eventually. Our lines together flowed so quickly that I didn't know when was the right time to take a bit of food- that's why I left it out. But I think fiddling around with the water bottle showed that I was so into the conversation I forgot about eating or drinking.

Other scenes: The first scene when we all take our places in the room and start dancing wasn't as crazy as it was when we practiced. The dancing didn't gradually get bigger- the voices just became more random and louder. When it came to the screaming, we all screamed at the same time and knew when to move into our 'side scenes'.

I think what may have confused the audience or the actors was the long pauses that people took in some scenes. Because it was hard to tell whether they did it for a pause of thought (which should be clearly shown as well on their faces) or if they didn't know what there next line was.

Shooting scene: From the moment it began I though the tension of the room just got a bit higher and it was a totally different mood from the rest of the play.  Because of the short lines a majority of us had I thought it was hard to pace it so that it kept the audience on their feet and it could of been more powerful. Personally, I found it hard to know when to start screaming (although I knew our signal was Hannah's hit to the space) because she was far behind me, so I relied on everyone else.

My experience: For it being my first play I performed in school , i LOVED it and I felt that as a strand our group bonds well like a family. In addition, it was great to have some motivational talk ,before our play, from our teachers.

Tanyas school life

The Costume for Tanya:

I've put together a school uniform- with a normal buttoned up, white , short-sleeved shirt ; a black pencil skirt ; black pumps and her school rucksack. I think what I've put together is suitable for 2013 but not 2004- I imagine the uniform to be very elegant and for her to wear her attire formally and neatly. I would definitely change the type of skirt that she wore and gave her a grey or navy (knee-length) school skirt and a blazer to go along with it. In the picture to the left i'm holding a book because I'd picture her to walk around with a folder or a large book to show off her intelligence. This costume would work better if it were summer- but for the time i've set it which is around october, she'd wear a long shirt with a tie and possibly have the top button undone so that she can 'fit in' with the rest of the group.

Tanya's memories

That was when she had time for me, mum's busy now
I could listen to her songs all day long
Could of done so much better
we all do!!
"He was a punk, She did ballet"-I still love to listen to Avril Lavigne's songs

my rucksack that's got me through 2 years of exams
Me and Cissy watched this throughout the whole evening at her sleepover.
This is the movie of the year-Ryan Gosling is so hot in this!
Cissy snapped some photos  for me of Anderson (last Wednesday) in her physics lesson

Diary pg - no. 4

Dear Diary,

Pheew! I've finally come home from a 2 and a half hours test . But i've just reminded myself it's only wednesday- with tests set every week my 'week' feels like a month. I pray that it went well and it better have because i'm not having all of my revision go to waste. I despise those people that are just able to remember something from a lesson and not have to revise. Cissy, for example, is able to get A's without even looking at a piece of work .It's like she clicks her fingers and magically gets a good grade.

While i was doing my test I had a moment when my mind went blank and I forgot my ideas so I had a glance around the room and couldn't help but see William starring at Lilly. I know he has some freaky obsession with her but how does even manage to do it during a test! He's gone way past clingy but now it's just..i don't even have a word for it. I'm not even sure that he knows he's definitely not going to get her- she is way out of his league. And she's already taken. You'd have to be able to be immensely hot to split a relationship that already exists and i don't think there's anyone more good looking then Nicholas in our year.

I haven't suddenly got a crush on him! No, that's Williams thing. Nicholas isn't really my 'type'- I go for older guys, that's why i'm waiting for Anderson. I can't believe I don't even know his first name (i'll check the teachers noticeboard tomorrow for it)! He looks like a George or an Aden- something hot but simple. I wonder if teachers ever have crushes on their older pupils. What if he's realised I totally have a massive crush on him. I can't be that blatantly obvious, can I? ...Oh my God!!! What if he does part-time tutoring! My mum doesn't know or even bother to pretend to want to know that I don't do physics. She'll gladly pay for me to get extra lessons, while i'll be gladly using that time to get to know him better.

Diary pg-no.3

Dear Diary,

He's so hot! That man doesn't even need to speak and my bodies blood bubbles warmth. Am I the only one who sees it? Why is Cissy in his classes and not me- she doesn't even like him. But I can't lie and say I enjoy learning that Albert Einstein was the scientist who was well known for his theory of relativity or that the frequency of red light varies with the output and wave length. Why does Anderson teach physics? Why not English? He should be teaching me the subtextual meaning behind the lines of William Shakespeare ; using Romeo's lines to confess his love for me.  We weed be such a good pair. I know i'm a bit young for him but i just need to wait two more years and he'll see me differently.

Our children would look adorable- they'd have his curly hair and my blue eyes. It took me a long time too decide on their names but I've finally narrowed it down to my favourites. So i'm going to have 4 beautiful children (2 girls and 2 boys) named Luke, Theo, Amanda and Cissy. It was a must for me to name one of my children after my close friend because it means so much to me and her. My future has been neatly documented in several files; i know what I want to do with my life and its important to know specifically so that I get a lot of experience as soon as possible.

I don't think that there's pressure being put on me. I mean, of course my parents want me to do well but it's mainly due to their success in life and them wanting me to carry that on. My mother owns a Mercedes Benz SLK- Class Roadster which her own business payed for. She is prosperous with her business and it leads her to new flourishing ideas. On the other hand my father is a dentist which I believe is a very good job. I've never been interested in the context behind science or how things are made- i'm just not a technical person.

When I'm older I want to become a lawyer, obviously having spent 4 years in law school before , to get a degree and see what it's like. History and english is something I enjoy which is the base for my education and the job pays a high salary. My money will chiefly be to raise my children in a positive environment and giving them what they need and not what they want so that they do well. Yet as a mum my authority will be to give them the love my mother didn't give me the way I potentially thought she could.

Hectors opinion

 HECTORS OPINION

Her characters personal diary shows a lot of her characters personality and it displays a lot of Olivia’s characters personality and she really captures Tanya’s characteristics well. She seems like how a teenage popular good looking girl would act if left on her own with a diary…Bitchy and irritating.

She hadn’t added any pictures Of Tanya in her character blog that I could see and I think a pretty light headed picture of a girl would go well with the gossipy attitude of said girl.

Olivia has a lot of very detailed opinions on our warm-ups and she really conveys the fact ( all though it isn’t blatant) that she understood the warm up exercise and that she  benefitted from the warm ups and activity’s that we did.
